Annual Meeting

August 22, 2011

On August 22nd, 2011 President Tim Moon called the Annual Meeting of the Marrowbone Public Library Board of Trustees to order at 7:15 pm. Roll Call was taken with the following members present: Tim Moon, Christina Marshall, Carol Iler, Jennifer Ashley, Jennifer Matheson, Kris Seitz and Carolyn Austin. Sally Ascenzo, and Lesa Oathout were also present. 

The minutes from the last annual meeting were read and approved as amended per a motion by Christina.

The Board reviewed its Capital Development Fund and goal for building an addition on to the Library.

Christina motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:18 pm.

Regular Meeting

August 22nd, 2011

On August 22nd, Vice President Jennifer Matheson called the Regular Meeting of the Marrowbone Public Library Board of Trustees to order at 7:18 pm. Roll Call was taken with the following members present; Tim Moon, Christina Marshall, Carol Iler, Jennifer Ashley, Jennifer Matheson, Kris Seitz, and Carolyn Austin. Librarians Sally Ascenzo, Lisa Spracklen (Co-Directors) and Lesa Oathout were also in attendance.

Minutes and Reports:

Minutes from the last meeting were read and approved per a motion by Jennifer M.

The treasurer’s report for July was reviewed. Jennifer M. motioned to accept the report and payment of bills and it was unanimously approved by roll call vote.

Committee Reports:

There were no committee reports this month.

Unfinished Business:

An updated building expansion layout was reviewed. It will be forwarded to the Engineer to update plans.

Jennifer M. and Tim Moon audited the minutes for the IPLAR.

Carolyn motioned to approve the 2011/2012 budget and it was unanimously approved by roll call vote.

The Certificate of Publication (Annual Financial Report Summary) was reviewed and approved per a motion by Kris.

New Business:

The 2011/2012 Budget and Appropriations Ordinance was posted today (August 22nd). A Public Hearing for the Budget and Appropriations has been set for the September 26th Board meeting.

The 2011/2012 Levy was also discussed. It will be voted on in the October Board meeting.

Librarian's report:

The latest census shows an increase of over 350 people to a population of 2629 in the Marrowbone Library District.

Circulation is up and story hour will be starting in September.

Art classes are going to be offered at the library on select evenings from September through March.
